If you ever wondered if there are fashionable mules
Yes, Crocs are considered mules by some scientists but they’re not in my group. I hate those inventions! Anyway, they were popular in the 70’s and had all sorts of comebacks in the past years. This time the trendiest mules came in flat sole masculine or super-feminine designs.
You may consider mules a fling of the SS17 so I’ve selected five pairs that are on a decent budget. Let’s see!
Mules by ASOS Collection
The embellished strap gives this pair a polished effect. Still girly because of the print, these mules are a nice “companion” for mini denim dresses and pastel culottes.

Mules by Nine West
The jacquard fabric upper with insect motif and grosgrain applique is an edgy choice. Wear this pair with a contemporary jumpsuit to enhance their masculine flair.
These teal velvety shoes with floral embroidery in yellow and red are great for garden parties if you want to be on the same picture. Otherwise, dare to wear them at the office with a crisp suit and a silk scarf!

Mules by Topshop
A knotted bow drapes across the vamp of a minimalist twill mule says the brand. Being the only black piece around here we need to agree that this is the most versatile on the list. Therefore, match it with striped ensembles or polka dots for a stylish twist.
Mules by Zara
Easy to slip on, these striped shoes found at Zara online are a conversation starter. Meet your friends for a Sunday brunch and talk about anything but shoes 🙂 Wear the pair with wide-leg trousers and a mini cropped bustier.
