Definitely, YES!

Let me start you off with a little story. Once in a while I get a style craving. It’s real, don’t roll your eyes at me. It happened with satin open back dresses, linen jumpsuit, shorts suits and it also happened with belt bags. Not any belt bags, but feminine ones, with multiple pockets in different materials. Fast forward about 2 years time and here they are!

So, as you’ve probably gathered by now, belt bags are a yes for me. Don’t be fooled by the sporty ones and not even by the very easy to recognise models. Go for the underdogs, for the niche brands, local artisans, get your inspiration online and you’ll do just fine.

I’m currently at belt bag nr 3 – a suede mini, a fierce animal print and a bold yellow. And I’m not stopping, I’ll tell you that!

So, in terms of wearability – anytime, anywhere. Dependent on size, material, embellishments, of course, but that’s just common sense. Wear them during summer with flowy dresses and, when Autumn comes, over a coat. Wear them with sport shoes or heels, wear them on their own or as an addition to your regular bag. They just mark your waist line, look pretty and decorative and keep your belongings safe. What more can you ask for from just a little piece of leather.

And for style’s sake, wear them as they’re intended, on your waist, and not crossbody.

All I’m saying they’re a sane investment for this/any season, so get going! Here are some inspiration images from the wide web, but I have a feeling you’ll be seeing them a lot on Instagram in the following weeks. Not my Instagram, Instagram in general.

PS. Carrie wore one about 20 years ago, so we’re a little bit behind, better catch up!
