Set along the tranquil edge of Lake Tei, the fourth edition of RAD Sculpture Park 2026 unfolds as one of Bucharest’s most compelling cultural encounters of the season. Hosted in the gardens of CARO until May 15, this open-air exhibition titled “CO-LAC” gathers over 60 artists and more than 100 works into a carefully orchestrated dialogue between contemporary art, landscape, and architecture.
Positioned within the broader framework of RAD Art Fair 2026, the project reflects a growing shift in how art is experienced, less as a static display and more as an evolving, spatial narrative that invites both movement and pause.
“CO-LAC” builds its curatorial language around the idea of shared existence, where collaboration, cohabitation, and connection reshape the viewer’s relationship with both artwork and environment. Rather than imposing objects onto a setting, the sculptures and installations are woven into the park’s biodiversity, encouraging a slower, more attentive form of observation. The result feels less like a traditional exhibition and more like a living composition, where boundaries between natural and constructed dissolve, and where each intervention contributes to a larger, fluid whole. This approach aligns with a broader international discourse in contemporary art, where site-responsive practices redefine how audiences engage with public space.
RAD Art Fair 2026 is free for everyone
Beyond its aesthetic dimension, the project carries a subtle yet persistent critical undertone, questioning the individualistic lens through which environments are often perceived. Here, the park becomes a symbolic “lifeline” within an urban context, a space where interdependence replaces isolation, and where art opens new ways of being together. Free to access daily, the park offers one of the most approachable entry points into contemporary art in Romania today, seamlessly extending into the dynamic program of Romanian Art Dealers, the initiative behind RAD. For visitors and collectors alike, it is less about viewing art and more about inhabiting it.
