How to wear a bra – the summer 2017 edition

Since there are 40 million hits on Google for the phrase “How to wear a bra”, I thought of writing an article about what to choose this season and where to find the collections online. There are two main reasons a woman wears a bra: functionality and aesthetics. When they combine, there’s a happy ending. Still, the design component has become more and more important. Now we have different shapes of bras and materials that better serve the fashion than the functional purpose.

Push-up bras are still among the best sellers in stores because women want round shapes. At the same time, the sheer lace, mesh or embroidered ones have gained much acclaim. The lingerie is in focus so this means you need to check what’s hot, new and trendy!

The bralette

This new design aims to show that this piece of lingerie is more than a bra that you need to hide. The bralette can be worn by any silhouette type, depending on the cups or padding. It’s definitely more sophisticated and creative than a regular push-up.

You can shop it at Intimissimi, For Love and Lemons, Stella McCartney or Fleur du Mal. Here are three products that I like:

The triangle

This design goes from romantic to cool depending on the brand. At the mass-market retailers you will find mesh cut sheer ones with fun patches. While premium or luxury houses have refined silk and Chantilly bras in their offering. Therefore it’s just about your mood!  The first ones, go hand in hand with denim looks, the latter with loose knits, voile shirts and crop tops.
