Though it might sound kitsch, the patch trend is nothing but cool!
I first saw them on jeans and now they’re stitched to everything – from bags to shirts. Maybe Gucci is to blame for all this. Remember the pre-fall 2016 collection, flaunting retro flares and patchwork bags? Most of the details look childish but in a sea of grey and #allblackeverything, it’s good to have something more playful and rainbow-y. Don’t panic if you don’t like colours, you can add a fries&eyes cotton patch to your old denim pair and there you go, trend check done! From casual to work-wear? Why not? Team a grey jersey tee with flared leather pants on weekends, choosing a white patched shirt for the office. Need to admit that the mesh bodysuit with floral patches is a delight. Go “no bra” if you dare (and have the right assets). Of course there are the stand alone patches you can apply on anything. We liked the red sign from Anya Hindmarch but also the typewriter accessory. Iron the flamingo, palm tree and rainbow on a simple sweater for a modern update.
