This year there was a lot of Oscar drama, but all we care about is red carpet magic.
At first I had mixed feelings – I couldn’t see many looks that stood out or made a statement. I was already replaying the Grammy looks article in my head, when great outfits started popping out. And now I’m satisfied!
- Most visible trends: red & gold and variations of the two, including burgundy, some shades of pink and lots of beige looks.
- Loved the fresh looks in white, loved the delicate lacey numbers and all the glamorous inserts – crystals, diamonds, feathers. Yes, it was a bit of old Hollywood glam and it was highly appropriate.
- Didn’t care much about the ample dresses which I think are a bit passe even for the biggest movie event of the year.
- Loved the older, chic ladies, with their lean figures and that calm and warm looks on their faces. They know the drill and they are now relaxed, making us all feel relaxed.
And now, for the entertainment section of the evening, here is my selection. Wanna know the favorites? Naomie Harries in Calvin Klein, Chrissy Tiegen, Olivia Culpo in Marchesa (told you I had a thing for whites and pale beige) and Taraji P. Henson in that great velvet Alberta Ferretti gown.
