Bucharest Becomes a Global Stage for Contemporary Jewelry

From October 1–5, 2025, Bucharest transforms into the beating heart of contemporary jewelry as it hosts the sixth edition of Romanian Jewelry Week. Over 270 designers from 40 countries will converge in the capital, turning it into a vibrant hub of creativity, innovation, and storytelling through wearable art. The program spans exhibitions, fairs, conferences, and workshops led by renowned names in the field, with the National Library of Romania as the main stage, complemented by museums, galleries, and independent spaces across the city. This landmark edition marks a new chapter in Romania’s cultural calendar, inviting both seasoned collectors and curious newcomers to discover the power of jewelry as an expression of identity, craftsmanship, and contemporary design.

A Meeting Point for Icons and Innovators

This year’s Romanian Jewelry Week stands out not only for its scale but also for the depth of its curatorial vision. Prestigious collective exhibitions such as SCHMUCKmuenchen, a reference point for over six decades, and The International Jewellery Competition from the Legnica Jewellery Festival SILVER, will present alongside emerging platforms like Slovenian Jewelry Week, where jewelry becomes a response to global challenges. The event will also showcase collectives including AdOC, Global Creative Graduate Show, and Assamblage Contemporary School, revealing a spectrum of aesthetics and approaches. From New York to Athens and Madrid, leading curators, gallerists, and cultural institutions will gather to jury the works and present awards, further cementing Romanian Jewelry Week’s role as a significant player on the global scene.

A Celebration of Vision, Craft, and Future

The 2025 edition also welcomes Sławomir Fijałkowski, a renowned Polish designer and curator whose work bridges traditional craftsmanship with avant-garde innovation. Alongside him, award-winning designers Yoonjung Choi, Isabelle Azaïs, and Antal Zilahi will unveil their creations, offering fresh perspectives on the future of contemporary jewelry. With free entry from October 1–3 and tickets available for the weekend events on iabilet.ro, Romanian Jewelry Week promises to be a dynamic meeting point for artists, industry leaders, and enthusiasts alike. More than an exhibition, it is a celebration of creativity and cultural exchange — a testament to jewelry’s evolving role as both intimate adornment and global language of artistry.
