Arket is your new shopping destination, courtesy of H&M
Yep, you read it well – H&M. According to our trustworthy BoF, the Swedish group will add a new retail brand to their portfolio. The first Arket store will open in London, most probably at the beginning of Autumn 2017.
The brand’s representatives describe Arket as “modern-day market that will offer essential products for men, women, children and home”. The stores will feature both own label products and some other brands. The price point will be a bit higher that the H&M usual, but the quality is also supposed to be better.
The brand speaks about timeless, quality and convenience, elements that customers lacked, according to extensive studies conducted by the new brand. The name means “sheet of paper” in Swedish and speaks about the new slate, both for the group and its customers. The shops will also feature a Nordic cafe, thus pushing through a more modern retail format.
While the first brick and mortar Arket will open in London (Regent Street), the online shop will be available starting day one for 18 European countries. The brand plans to extend to other capitals, keeping Europe as its main focal point.
Arket is just one of the 2 new brands H&M plans to open in 2017 and adds to the group retail portfolio comprised of: H&M, COS, Monki, Weekday, & Other Stories and Cheap Monday.
We welcome Arket and hope to add it to our short shopping list!
